The men’s team had their first friendly game on Saturday 24th April against Pelhams Bowling Club. This is a traditional game played , home and away, on alternate years for the ‘SWANHAMS SHIELD’  and started in the late 1990’s.

This year we played three triples rinks, rather than the normal four full rinks, due to the restrictions imposed by ‘Covid’.

The number of wins is almost equal between the clubs but this year Swanage held on to the trophy by a small margin of five shots overall. The rink skippered by Terry Buck lost 16-18, Gordon Wallis’s rink lost 15-18 and the rink of Mr. Captain, Brian Beeston having kept their boot on the jugular, won handsomely 21-11, giving us the overall win.
