Membership

The Club has about 90 members and associates. We are working with Swanage Town Council to ensure the Club is able to welcome people with disabilities and is accessible to all. Our younger players tend to be sons, daughters or grandchildren of our adult members but we hope to expand this group when leadership allows.

At the beginning of the season the Club holds several ‘Have a Go’ sessions for anyone interested in trying out the game. New members pay half the annual subscription and this entitles them to one to one training sessions as well as all the other benefits of membership.

The Club runs an in-house mid-week afternoon Triples league with matches held each week. This proves to be great fun every year, with a good mixture of competitiveness and jollity!

Eastgate Rollers: Each Monday and Friday morning at 10.30am the club run organised roll-up sessions for both men and women. Teams are selected on-the-day depending on who turns up at by 10.15am. Rev John Eastgate was a former enthusiastic member who was responsible for encouraging several new members to play in these sessions which now bears his name

Club Night: Every Friday evening at 5pm for members meet for a relaxed match before retiring to the Clubhouse for a snack, drink or two and a good old chat!

The Club also holds relaxed competitions such as the President’s Day where members are invited to play in fancy dress and raise money for the President’s Charity.

The Club has 2 types of membership; Full Membership and Associate Membership. Associates are invited to join the Club’s social events and can play once a week during our Friday club night sessions for an additional fee.

We are also signed up to Active Dorset to promote the Club and the game of bowls throughout the County.
