The day was started with raffle ticket sales and a ‘Spider’ competition before starting the main event.
Despite the adverse weather, Captain’s Charity Day was enjoyed by many of the club bowlers. Brian and Linda organised six rinks of triples to be played over 18 ends, however, the clouds opened and before getting totally drenched we finished after 10 ends and headed to the bar!
Following presentation of ‘Top Rink’ prizes to Ken Morgan, Betty Crackle and skip Terry Buck, an auction for a water colour painting of the club and the raffle took place.
After all the cash was counted Dorset Air Ambulance, the captains charity, was £400 better off. Well done Brian and Linda.
